Research & Evaluation

Research, identification and testing of new tools, emerging best practices and delivery models.

The EdTech Center has focused on research designed to build knowledge about how technologies and their use can be optimized to support learning for children, youth and adults who have interrupted formal education, are new to learning online, and need supportive digital skill building opportunities.

We work with platform developers in field testing projects that inform the development of educational technology applications that align with the needs of learners and defining use scenarios that highlight promising features or limitations of apps in different settings. We engage in empirical qualitative and mixed-methods research to better understand how people learn using technology. The technical assistance that we design and deliver based on this research has positioned us as leaders in the arena of supporting foundational skills development using digital approaches and solutions.
