EdTech Strategy Sessions – AI History and EdTech Tool Evaluation

This month’s EdTech Strategy Session features two lightning talks:

  1. You know AI is a hot topic, but do you know all of the philosophy, sci-fi, and math that got us to this point? Settle in for some storytelling with a librarian turned AI expert, Hale Durant of aiEDU, who can help us understand AI controversy and chatter, going back centuries.
  2. What do we need to know before we adopt a new edtech tool? What should we consider if the tool uses AI? Two Harvard Graduate School of Education AI scholars, Mrinmoy Saha and Aleksandar Lazovski will guide us through a set of criteria and questions that can serve as a guide for teachers and trainers adopting new tech tools.

After the ETSS lightning talks, there is an opportunity to join the speakers in a breakout room for small group discussion from 2:00 – 2:30 PM EST.

Since March 2020, the EdTech Center has hosted EdTech Strategy Sessions (formerly known as Distance Education Strategy Sessions) on a weekly to monthly basis. The virtual strategy sessions convene leaders, practitioners, educators and more to share and discuss your distance learning questions. Held every 2nd Friday at 10 AM PST, 12 PM CST and 1 PM EST via Zoom. Join our mailing list to stay updated!
