ACTIVITIES
Students can write to the different political candidates to find out where they stand on the issues that students have identified as important. Go to Writing Decision Makers to view a sample letter.

Students can then compare the different positions of each candidate in order to make an informed choice as to who they will vote for. They can create a "Candidate Report Card" listing their priority issues and the qualities they think are most important in an elected official. Students can rate the candidates on how closely their views match the students' and on their leadership abilities. To view a sample report card, visit
The Democracy Network's Step-by-Step Guide: How to Pick a Candidate.
