NOTES FOR STUDENTS
Welcome! I hope you enjoy reading about my students. If you want to improve your English language skills and find out more about careers requiring short-term training, here are some activities to try:

1. Read a page silently. What did the student do first? What did the student do second? Third? Fourth? Fifth?

2. Read a page orally.

3. Read a page with a friend. One person read the questions, and the other person read the answers. Then switch parts.

4. Interview a friend or neighbor who is working. Use my students' interviews as models.

4. Copy the page for practice. If there are any vocabulary words you do not know, look them up in your dictionary.

5. Have you ever applied for a job in the United States? What did you do that was the same as the students on this web site? What did you do that was different?

6. Read about other careers requiring short-term training on the computer at http://www.wnjpin.state.nj.us/OneStopCareerCenter/JobSeeker/CareerDescription.html provided by the Workforce New Jersey Public Information Network.
