Innovative Digital Learning Models

Find Another Resource

In partnership with the Migration Policy Institute, EdTech Center’s Alison Ascher Webber led a panel at the National Immigrant Integration Conference showcasing innovative program models that leverage educational technologies to train hard-to-reach adults and extend learning beyond classroom walls. The models presented were designed for different immigrant demographics and largely included ESL instruction, but the structures for incorporating digital learning into programs are relevant to training in any topic.

The programs varied from 100% digital learning (with no in-person instruction) to primarily face-to-face instruction (with digital tools used to personalize & extend instruction) as illustrated in the chart below. To learn more about the models, please read the full blogpost and watch the webinar or view the slides.

The EdTech Center @ World Education compiled the follow data showing the range of instruction using different proportions of distance and face-to-face learning. Click on the image below or download a PDF version of the chart.
