PROJECTS
In Eswatini, with support from the Open Society Initiative for Southern African, World Education’s Bantwana Initiative partnered with Cell-Ed to implement Go Girls Connect!, an innovative digital inclusion project that aims to build digital competency and empower girls with critical life skills, protective assets and resources, and enable them to advocate for their human rights and navigate challenging gender norms. Go Girls delivered our proven life skills and protective assets program (Protect Our Youth) directly to girls on their mobile phones in an engaging, interactive format. The platform included a digital early warning system (EWS) self-screening tool for girls to self-identify as being at-risk of school drop-out and a gender-based violence (GBV) self-identification tool. Both tools are linked to response protocols that connect girls to field-based supports and services.
