Internet Access and Affordability

Woman with tablet

The EdTech Center supports efforts providing and advocating for increased Internet access for low-income adults, teachers, and classrooms. We educate partners across the country about Lifeline, EveryoneOn and other initiatives providing free or low-cost internet and cellphone services. We have long championed Internet access to increase the rigor and relevance of classroom teaching and homework; make learning anytime, anywhere a possibility for all; and provide families with connections to information, civic opportunity, health information, and consumer savings. Currently we are educating policy makers and the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) on the importance of maintaining policies protecting Internet privacy, net neutrality, Lifeline and other low-cost ICT services.
